In order to preserve this beautiful piece of nature that reflects the essential landscape features of belarusian lake land and hosts numerous ethnographic and historic memorials the "Braslav Lakes" National wildlife area has been established. This national park spans about 250 square miles. The front office is located at the town of Braslav which is 135 miles away from Minsk and 150 miles away from Vitebsk.
